Buying a piece

Terms of Sale

Last updated: 5 June 2026

These Terms of Sale apply whenever you buy an artwork from Stroke of Hope. They work alongside our Terms & Conditions, Shipping, Returns & Refunds policy and Privacy Policy.

1. One-of-a-kind originals

Every piece we sell is a 1-of-1 originalcreated by one of the young artists we represent. Once a piece is sold, it is no longer available — there are no duplicates or reprints.

2. Prices

All prices are shown in South African Rand (ZAR) and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Delivery is calculated separately at checkout (see our Shipping & Returns policy).

3. Payment

Payment is processed securely by PayFast. We do not see or store your card details. Your order is placed once you complete payment through PayFast’s secure checkout.

4. When your order is accepted

Adding a piece to your cart and starting checkout is an offer to buy. A sale is concluded — and your order accepted — only once we receive confirmation of successful payment. At that point the piece is marked sold and reserved for you. If payment is not confirmed, the piece is released and may be bought by someone else.

5. Certificate of authenticity

Each work ships with a signed certificate of authenticity and a card telling you about the young artist who made it.

6. Colour & appearance

Because each piece is handmade and photographed, the colours and texture you see on screen may vary slightly from the original. Screen settings differ from device to device. These natural variations are part of the character of an original work and are not a defect.

7. Title & risk

Ownership (title) and risk in the artwork pass to you on delivery — or, for local collection, when you collect it. Until then, the piece remains our responsibility.

8. Pricing errors

We take care to price every piece correctly, but errors can happen. If we discover that a piece was listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may decline or cancel the order before accepting it and will refund any amount already paid. We will always contact you first.

9. Supporting the artist

Every sale puts money directly behind a young artist. Buying a piece supports both the artist who made it and our wider mission — thank you.
